The first thing that intrigued me was that it had been moved across the frozen Chena River by horse in the winter of 1911. The first time of driving or even skating on lake or river ice is a bit unnerving, but to move a building across it is still amazing to me, even though I know how to calculate the capacity of the ice to hold it. Back then, while also based on experience, they just intuitively knew (hoped) that it would work. The church is entirely defined by its shadows, which is my metaphor of the metaphor of religious thought. Although, I do know how to blow up clouds.
