This is just another one the typical standard, spectacular sights of Alaska. I found this
old miners cabin on another backpacking trip with Richard Knight. The cabin had seen better
days and was quite overgrown, so I felt it was my duty to imagine and portray what it may have
been like to get up in the morning, stoke the fire, start the coffee, head outside for a breath
of cool morning air with the bit of fog upstream, bring in more firewood, and take a pee in the
creek before the mosquitoes start swarming.
There are a couple of elements added to the drawing, one intentionally and the other not; you
can fairly easily find the latter, but the intentional inclusion I doubt will ever be found
(it is visible) and I don’t plan to ever tell. It suggests the subtitle “A Miners Dream”.
